This year's Fiction Addiction Lone Star book club will began their first book during Jag Time on Sept. 23.  Be sure to stop by the library for a parent permission slip.  You must have your form signed before you are able to participate.  Or 10 provided copies have been claimed, so any more students joining our club will just need to provide their own copies of the books.  This year we will be reading 5 of the 2025 Lone Star selections:

 

The Mystery of Locked Rooms by Lindsay Currie--Finished

 

It Happened to Anna by Tehlor Kay Mejia--Finished

 

The Last Dragon on Mars by Scott Reintgen--Reading

In early March we will wrap up our club and hold tryouts for the Lone Star bowl, Name That Book, which will be held in May.

 

Our annual end of year Lone Star party will take place in May also.  Any student reading at least 5 Lone Stars and completing the reporting requirements in BeanStack will be invited to our party, which includes an afternoon of board games, prize drawings, and ice cream!

 
Did someone say digital books?  We have SORA, an Overdrive program, for access to our district ebooks & audiobooks!  Currently available for all CISD secondary school students.  6th, 7th, & 8th graders will have access to elementary and middle school resources. Check with your parents for permission before checking out books using Sora.

Need book suggestions?  Lone Stars are always a good choice.  Check out Ms. Lamb's Lone Star book trailers.  Many of these titles are available in SORA in ebook and/or audiobook format as well as in the CMS library.

Library hours 7:50am to 4:30pm on school days.
 
Students may check out 3 items at a time for 3 weeks.
 
Books that are not reserved by other students are able to be renewed one time for an additional 3 weeks.
