Woo hoo! Ms. Lamb (along with CSES librarian Rachel Pruett) wrote and submitted a grant to the Comal Education Foundation for a set of large print titles to be added to every elementary, middle, and high school campus library. We got it! The books have been ordered and will be added to the libraries sometime in April.
Don't forget about our Lone Star Challenge. Read (and speak with Ms. Lamb about) any 5 Lone Stars (from any years) by the end of April and get invited to our Lone Star party on May 15th. There will be board games, drawings for prizes, and ice cream. It's a great time!!!!
Thanks to all students who participated in this year's Fiction Addiction book club. We read 5 of the 2024 Lone Star titles: Felicia & the Wailing Woman by Diana Lopez, You are Here: Connecting Flights by Elle Oh, A Rover's Story by Jasmine Warga, The Vanquishers by Kalynn Bayron, and Thieves' Gambit by Kayvion Lewis.
Our spring Scholastic BOGO (Buy One, Get One) fair will be May 5, (not 6), 7, 8, 9, and 12.
Congrats to our 2024 book bowl team! They placed first in the district Travis Lamb Memorial Name That Book bowl on April 12th. We are very proud. They worked very hard! This year's team has begun practicing Tuesdays & Thursdays during Jag Time. Our competition will be May 1st!
Did someone say digital books? We have SORA, an Overdrive program, for access to our district ebooks & audiobooks! Currently available for all CISD secondary school students. 6th graders will have access to elementary and middle school resources. 7th and 8th graders will have access to elementary, middle school, and high school resources. Check with your parents for permission before checking out books using Sora.

Need book suggestions? Lone Stars are always a good choice. Check out Ms. Lamb's Lone Star book trailers. Many of these titles are available in SORA in ebook and/or audiobook format as well as in the CMS library.
Library hours 7:50am to 4:30pm on school days.
Students may check out 3 items at a time for 3 weeks.
Books that are not reserved by other students are able to be renewed one time for an additional 3 weeks.
