All About Me!!!
Hi! My name is Kara Wheeler. I am your child’s MTA teacher. MTA stands for Multi-Sensory Teaching Approach. My goal is to support each student by giving them the tools they need to read with confidence and competence in middle school. This is my 12th year teaching but my 3rd year in middle school, although I was a substitute teacher almost daily here at Canyon Middle School a couple of years ago. I graduated from Angelo State University in 2005. GO RAMS! I feel it is important to have open communication with my students and their families. As the semester progresses and your student gets to know me, I hope to create a safe environment for them to come directly to me with any questions they have, but please feel free to contact me by email throughout the year with any questions or
concerns you might have. I will respond as soon as I am able. In our classroom, we will respect all concerns and celebrate all efforts! My husband, Cliff, and I have lived in New Braunfels for around 20 years now. Our oldest daughter, Kalynn, is a Junior at Canyon High School. Our youngest, Kelsey, is a 8th grader here at Canyon Middle School. We have 2 dogs named Sandy and Trooper.
