May 22, 2023 - Four Comal ISD Winter Color Guard teams qualified for state competition with Davenport High School’s team winning the championship title for the second year in a row.
The DHS Winter Color Guard team is under the direction of color guard director Kim Booher, assistant color guard director Alexis Dillon and director of bands Jeffrey Keyes. Team members include Lydia Alspach, Credance Gardner, Eleana Garcia, Lindsey Griffin, Ava Guerra, Adriana Islas, Kyley Kay, Morgan Lavash, Alicia Ongstad, Alani Parker, Lilly Scheck, Sarah Sralla and Breana Stewart.
The Canyon High School Winter Color Guard team placed sixth and is under the direction of Stephen Vaden and Catherine Alvarado. Members include Morgan Bledsoe, Serena Davila, Jazmine Delgado, Iris Garcia, Ariel Gomez-Hernandez, Soriyah Guerrero, Sheyla Hechavarria, Destiny Hernandez, Madalyn Hill, Emma Maldonado, Haley Poole, Isabella Porth, Breanne Thomas, Lorelei Vaden, Ebanie Villagomez and Allyson Wiatrek.
The Canyon Lake High School Winter Color Guard team placed fourth in its division and is under the direction of Ed Gonzales. Team members include Ryleigh Andres, Emily Cress, Olivia Crisp, Abigail Hulsey, Saschabella Juarez, Karlee Kitchen, Kaidyn Lewis, Fenway Perry, Korina (Ka-ree-nuh) Soto and Kimberly Yarbrough.
In its second year in existence, the Pieper High School Winter Color Guard team placed fourth. Under the direction of color guard director John Arroyo and director of bands Evan Berry. Team members include Averie Acevedo, Liberty Angle, Audrey Beaudet, Daphne Crisantes, Malia Dimas, Julianna Foley, Avelyn Griffith, Edith Hanan, Madison Ledesma, Ashley Martinez, Kayla Medina, Alexis Mihail, Kamryn Saavedra, Rylen Sawatzke, Emery Soden, Mayumi Torres, Jazmyn Viera and Liberty Voss.
